Deshawn Martin, of Hempstead, was arrested at 12:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9, in Freeport and charged with first-degree murder in the January incident, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
He is accused of shooting Santos Valeriano Argueta, of Hempstead, at about 11 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 30, at the intersection of Peninsula Boulevard and Sewell Street in Hempstead.
Martin was scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday, Feb. 10, NCPD said.
